Message from the Chairman

Yawgoog Alumni Association Members,

belltoweOur 100th season will be here soon and the planning for our celebrations continues to develop. Thanks to your continued generosity, YAA will again provide Yawgoog with pieces of critical infrastructure to support the program.

YAA projects for 2015:

  • Yawgoog Emergency Alert System – this project will provide mass communications across the reservation during an emergency. It will utilize pre-recorded and live broadcasts that will allow staff and campers to take immediate action – think Lost Bather Drills (LBDs) or severe thunderstorm alerts.
  • Disabled Scout Transportation – a “Gator” ATV will be provided to assist disabled Scouts and Scouters to fully participate in camp activities.
  • WIFI – the world has changed and so have we! WIFI services will be provided for staff and adult leaders in each of the dining halls to keep their conduits to the outside world active. Many leaders, in particular, require internet access in order to continue to conduct their business while supporting their Scouts.
  •  Robotics – Yawgoog will begin to offer the Robotics Merit Badge at camp this summer. YAA is assisting in the initial equipment requirements for this new and exciting badge.
  • Picnic Tables – YAA through your monetary support and labor will replace many picnic tables in the campsites. We will provide the materials for the rangers to pre-cut the tables and we will assemble the tables for use during this upcoming season at our first annual YAA Day of Service (May 9th).
  • Memorial Room – YAA will replace the badly worn braided rug and upholstery.

Please do what you can to support these very important projects with your donations!

And now on to the 100th Season . . .
Below are the dates and events to place on your calendar:

The Guided Hikes is a great idea.

Where can people get the dates and times for the monthly guided hikes? What is the sign-up process?
